To charters, obviously do not reveal which chart is yours, even if you figure it out.
Donāt harass or attack any charters. Feedback is fine, but donāt be a twat about it
If there are any problems, same as always, just message me on the forums here and Iāll get back to you as soon as possible.
yes participants can vote too
This round was way harder ;-; canāt wait to see what people did with this because I was dead in the water from the get-go
Me, the MSD 19 player wanting to play through them:
And yeah, charting this was brutal due to how the audio was balanced, and any insights the other charts can give me would be a godsend. Trying to chart the song at 50% speed was a trip, though, since the vocal samples are near their original tones at that speed.
In a āplaying the record backwards to hear a secret messageā moment, I outright identified one of them: the Reol/Kradness cover of Childish War is apparently in this song.
This song was brutal to chart for many reasons, way harder than Jakarta Evolution in general.
Audio balancing aside, I dunno if itās just me, but it feels like a completely different song at 40% vs 100% speed. Have we crossed the Vapor/Nightcore Threshold?
For sure. The nuance that sticks out on lower speeds fades away on full speed. I was on 80% speed for a good portion of the charting progress because going any lower started messing with my perception of the song.
Not that it helped lol
Sounds like the song had the intended effect on everyone then
I am concerned about how were using the same aliases as last timeā¦ wouldnāt that form a bias on people voting who know who charted which Jakarta chart?
If someone forms a bias based off of 1-3 charts then thatās them being braindead. This applies outside of this tournament as well, forming a bias against someoneās charts off of 1-5 charts from them is stupid.
Iām surprised no one went for chordjacks here
Voting has closed, results will be posted on round 3 thread
Welcome to round 3 of ECT2023! Everyone who submitted in round 2 should have received an email with the synced .sm and audio file! If you canāt find it, check spam!
This track is going to test your ability to chart more layered music, and I look forward to seeing how everyone varies in their approaches!
Round 3ās song is āreese massiveā by āTemmaā! Check it out below!
Just for clarity, Iāll go over the rules each round!
What ISNāT allowed:
No insulting/attacking other peoples entries
No harassment or bullying of any charters or organisers involved.
Must be a 4k (4 key) chart
You must submit the chart as a .sm or .ssc file. If youāre from another rhythm game, Iām sure there are many ways to convert your filetype to .sm/.ssc
No cutting the music. (The music is at most 3 minutes, donāt worry)
You may alter the provided sync however you like, but if the chart is off sync it will be disqualified
From round 2 onwards, you MUST submit a chart each round or you will be removed from the event.
Sharing your chart before the end of the event, to avoid people knowing who made what.
If making modcharts, donāt put anything malicious in them (Obviously)
Collaborations are not allowed
Didnāt think iād need to add this but donāt be a twat and judge peoples charting speed by looking at the dates of a submission (seriously, come on)
What IS allowed:
Dumping is allowed.
Gimmicks (Such as the cmod gimmick or ārolltechā and other obscure playstyles).
Modcharts (Including lua stuff).
Xmod charts.
Visual things (such as colour theory).
Any other creative/unique thing you can do with a song, so long as it uses the required formats (.sm or .ssc)
You have until the 4th of may to chart this track. ^^
Best of luck, everyone! I canāt wait to see peoples approach!
If you have any questions or complaints, you can leave them in this thread OR send me a message privately on the forum and Iāll answer them when possible (I canāt promise an immediate response)
